Hackerspaces
There are some amazing things happening in Albany. But, there are some amazing things happening in the rest of the world that I wish were happening here. The list is long, I could envision just about anything happening in our fair city, but my most recent envy is a Hackerspace (http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/Hackerspaces). A Hackerspaces are simply, “community-operated physical places, where people can meet and work on their projects.” A place for like minded people to tinker and make things, share ideas with like minded tinkerers. There is a new explosion of the DIYer, and the Hackerspace is on the cutting edge of it. How would this benefit our community? Imagine a space where everyone from artists to attorneys could go with crazy designs in their heads and work together to build them. This kind of collaboration is what every community needs to grow in positive ways.
A seed is planted. Hopefully, there are people out there who can help nurture it to make it grow!
